Wrought Iron Fence
Wrought iron fences are the most expensive fence type that you can buy, but for the money, they are the absolute best fencing type around. Wrought iron fencing is, generally speaking, used for security purposes. Wrought iron is nearly impenetrable and, for this reason, does a great job at keeping people, and animals, out of places that they do not belong in. This type of fence can be built in a standard fence format, or it can be custom made in to a beautifully ornate piece of fencing art.
The number one advantage to wrought iron fencing is the amount of security that it provides. Wrought iron is very hard to bend, cut through, or tip over, and for this reason, it created a definitive barrier. If your wrought iron fence is built correctly (which it always would be with us), the bars of the fence will be close enough together that bodies will not fit through the gaps. On top of that, the bars will also be tall enough, that the average person cannot scale the fence. Depending on your personal style, we can also top wrought iron with arrow heads that will further deter climbing.
Another really cool thing about wrought iron fencing is that the iron can be made in to any shape, or pattern, that you would like. Because iron is mailable before it is completely hardened, it lends itself to being manipulated in to all sorts of fun shapes. If you are electing to have an iron fence built, and the traditional straight pole design is not to your liking, we can work with you on exactly what type of decoration you would like. Common iron decorations are your initials emblazoned on the fence, or leaves entwined in the bars.
If we are building you a wrought iron fence for security purposes, you will most likely need some kind of gated entry, through the fence, for you to use. Gates can come in all shapes, and sizes, and the style really depends on what you would like. A classic gate has a locking mechanism, that can be lifted by hand, to permit entry through it. However, if you are looking for a more modern option, we can install an electronic lock for you. This type of lock will allow you to permit entry to guests, while staying inside your own home.
Repair of a wrought iron fence can be a little bit of a problem. Because wrought iron is typically welded together, if something does happen to one of the poles, or beams, it can take a bit of work to patch it up. However, that being said, because of how strong wrought iron is, this type of repair will, almost, never be needed. In fact, most people with these fences never have to make any sort of repairs at all. As far as maintenance goes, hosing the fence down and brushing it off, is really all it takes!
